This is my favorite self portrait. It pretty well sums up my thinking about watercolor painting.

About 10 years ago, shortly before retiring from my day job, I started dabbling in graphite and colored pencil drawing. After retirement I decided to keep at it (and perhaps try to learn something). To that end I attended weekly classes for a few years until I got the nerve to strike out on my own.

I work mostly in watercolor. My pictures usually have outdoor settings and some sort of story to tell. They often are set in the Southwestern U.S. Although I currently reside near Atlanta Georgia I still have strong connections to Texas and New Mexico. I guess I just like arid, thirsty, and blistering hot places!
